On May 8, JA Solar’s 3.5 GW factory in Vietnam produced its first solar cell, signifying the completion of the closed loop production of wafer, cells and modules in JA Solar’s production base in Vietnam. With RMB 1.47 billion total investment, the cell fab is dedicated to large size high-efficiency silicon solar cells.
Toyo Solar, a subsidiary of Vietnamese solar manufacturer Vsun Solar completed the construction of a 4 GW TOPCon cell factory in the Hoà Phú Industrial Zone in the Bắc Giang province, in the northeast part of Vietnam. The company said the facility represents the first phase of a project to build a cell factory with a total capacity of 8 GW.
Established in 2017, Vietnam Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is a company that specializes in processing and manufacturing solar panels. The company’s factory is over 20,000 m2 in Tien Son Industrial Zone, Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam.
China’s Trina Solar Co Ltd (SHA:688599) today announced the successful manufacture of the first batch of 210 mm cells and 550-W Vertex modules in its new factory in Vietnam. The company started building the fully-automated facility in Thai Nguyen in December 2020 and finalised its construction in five months.
The total investment is estimated at 2,118,222,700 yuan (US$294,197,600). Jinko Solar has set up factories in Vietnam since 2021 to gradually reach production capacity of 7GW of wafers, 8GW of solar cells and 8GW of modules.
