The Energy and Research Institute ( TERI) has invited bids to implement 20 MW/40 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Delhi for BSES Rajdhani Power ( BRPL) under a tariff-based competitive bidding process. BRPL has planned to deploy the BESS within their licensed area and appointed TERI to invite bids from prospective bidders.
Reliance NU Suntech, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, has secured India’s largest solar energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) project at 930 MW (megawatts) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), according to an exchange filing.
The final tender document will be issued by SECI on the Guidelines issued under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003. The draft Guidelines and draft Request for Selection (RfS) documents are enclosed herewith. Prospective bidders are hereby invited to review these documents and submit their comments to SECI by 27.10.2021.
The competitive bidding saw Reliance Power submitting a tariff bid of ₹3.81999 lakh per MW per month. JSW emerged as the lowest bidder, offering a tariff of ₹3.81 lakh per MW per month for their 500 MW/ MWh allocation. This new tariff represents one of the lowest rates for BESS tenders at the 400 KV level in India to date.
To be eligible, bidders should have commissioned and/or have battery energy storage systems connected to the grid, with a minimum capacity of 1 MWh, either in India or globally, within the last five years from the date of bid opening.
