Liquid immersion cooling for batteries entails immersing the battery cells or the complete battery pack in a non-conductive coolant liquid, typically a mineral oil or a synthetic fluid.
To verify the effectiveness of the cooling function of the liquid cooled heat dissipation structure designed for vehicle energy storage batteries, it was applied to battery modules to analyze their heat dissipation efficiency.
The battery liquid cooling heat dissipation structure uses liquid, which carries away the heat generated by the battery through circulating flow, thereby achieving heat dissipation effect (Yi et al., 2022).
Discussion: The proposed liquid cooling structure design can effectively manage and disperse the heat generated by the battery. This method provides a new idea for the optimization of the energy efficiency of the hybrid power system. This paper provides a new way for the efficient thermal management of the automotive power battery.
In this effort, the improvement of a thermal model for a lithium-ion battery pack with a novel channeled liquid cooling system, including twelve 18650-type LIBs is proposed and described. The comparison between discharge processes at different C-rates indicated that the temperature values are in reasonable agreement.
In summary, the optimization of the battery liquid cooling system based on NSGA-Ⅱ algorithm solves the heat dissipation inside the battery pack and improves the performance and life of the battery.
