One or multiple batteries (optional) - DC-coupled batteries designed to work with the SolarEdge system. The batteries can be connected to the system optionally. When installing a battery, connect the DC cables from the battery and from Power Optimisers to an external combiner box, compliant with local regulation.
For setting up communication between the SolarEdge Energy Bank and the inverter, SolarEdge strongly recommends using SolarEdge Energy Net. WARNING! Before connecting the battery to the inverter, verify that the battery is powered off. 1. Toggle off the battery ON/OFF/P switch. 2. Turn off the battery circuit breaker. Turn off the circuit breaker.
Standard tools can be used during the installation of the SolarEdge system. The following is a recommendation of the equipment needed for installation: Cordless drill ( clutch) or screwdriver and bits suitable for the surface on which the inverter and optimisers will be installed. Use of an impact driver is not allowed.
• Switch off or disconnect all loads. When power from PV is available the battery status will show Charging, and the Grid (the red box on the left of the overview) will be slightly fluctuating around 0W (zero watts). After configuring this item, the system will immediately start charging the battery. First, disconnect the mains.
Feed-in of PV power via an MPPT Solar Charger can be enabled or disabled in the Energy Storage Systems menu on the CCGX. Note that when disabled, the PV power will still be available to power AC loads. Feed-in of PV connected to grid-tie inverters occurs automatically.
The Energy Storage System uses a MultiPlus or Quattro bidirectional inverter/charger as its main component. Note that ESS can only be installed on VE.Bus model Multis and Quattros which feature the 2nd generation microprocessor (26 or 27). All new VE.Bus Inverter/Chargers currently shipping have 2nd generation chips.
