Based on global distribution of solar energy and its feature, this paper discusses a review about solar energy’s utilization techniques, mainly discusses the latest development of photo-thermal and photoelectric utilization technology, which are mature and widely used.
Therefore, the engineering sector is actively seeking sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions. Among the promising innovations in solving the problem is the photovoltaic thermal system (PVT), which aims to capture electrical and thermal energy from solar radiation.
The application of solar PT-PV technology is an important way to achieve clean energy supply and energy conservation and emission reduction in building field. Simultaneously meeting the thermal and electric need of building is one of the main development directions of solar PT-PV energy supply system.
Finally, the challenge of optimizing the performance for solar PT-PV energy supply system in solar energy enrichment zones was summarized, and the development direction and application prospect of the system in building field was proposed. 1.
Despite its potential, the application of PVT systems is currently limited due to the unpredictable nature of solar energy and the absence of efficient thermal energy storage capabilities.
Sequentially, the economic and environmental benefit evaluation standard and calculation method of solar PT-PV energy supply system was summarized, specifically in terms of operating cost, energy cost, and carbon emission reduction in common building.
