KUALA LUMPUR: Global lithium battery manufacturer Eve Energy Co Ltd today held a groundbreaking ceremony for its US$422 million (RM1.9 billion) new manufacturing facility in Kulim, Kedah.
KUALA LUMPUR: EVE Energy Co Ltd, a China-based lithium battery production company, will build a US$422.3 million cylindrical battery production base in Malaysia. The manufacturing facility will support electric two-wheelers and power tools manufacturing enterprises in the country and across Southeast Asia.
The Malaysia factory's construction is progressing smoothly, with the main structure almost completed. It has obtained a manufacturing license for cylindrical lithium-ion batteries and is expected to be completed and put into production by the end of this year.
EVE Energy's Malaysia factory, the 53rd factory, is building an "International Cylindrical Battery Industrial Park" with an investment of up to $422.3 million, located in Kulim, Kedah. It will create over 600 local jobs upon completion. Dr. Liu Jincheng expressed gratitude for the support from the Malaysian government, MITI, and MIDA.
