As the demand for competent personnel in battery operations grows, so does the need for specialised training. Recognising this gap, we have developed the Battery Installation and Maintenance Course (BIMC). Successful learners will receive a certificate from City & Guilds as part of their assured service and a digital credential
This Level 3 Battery Storage training course covers the installation of dedicated EESS in accordance with the IET code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems. It provides detailed theoretical and practical knowledge enabling candidates to apply the relevant regulations and guidance and safely work on battery storage systems.
It provides detailed theoretical and practical knowledge enabling candidates to apply the relevant regulations and guidance and safely work on battery storage systems. During the course, you will receive practical training, including work on:
Regular maintenance and proper charging/discharging practices can extend a battery's lifespan. A booking password is required to purchase a place on this course. GTEC runs the UK's leading Battery Storage Systems training course, also known as electrical energy storage systems (EESS).
Battery maintenance procedure, including visual inspections and discharge testing, will then be covered and the course will end with several examples of how the data collected during the maintenance visits can be used to identify the cells or units that have the potential to fail if placed under load. This course is offered in-person and virtual.
We assume that participants already possess some degree of electrical competence. Ideally, candidates should have at least 6 months of experience working with stationary batteries. However, for those who need additional foundational knowledge, a pre-course study pack is available to help them get up to speed.
