Tesla has released a new video with new images of its battery cell production in Fremont, California, as it seeks to hire more people to replicate the production lines at new factories in Germany and Texas.
Owen Sparks, a Tesla fan and owner, noticed that Tesla’s battery cell production lines appeared to be similar to bottling processes used by large-scale beverage companies. Musk replied to the Tweet, acknowledging the similarities and commending high-volume industries for inspiring the Tesla battery lines.
In drone operator Jeff Roberts’ recent video, two truckloads of battery production equipment entered the storage area of Tesla Giga Texas. The boxes were labeled Cathode Line 1 and Anode Line 1. Roberts observed that the Anode Line 1 boxes were later driven toward the battery cell production area of the facility.
Now Tesla is releasing new images of battery cell production at its pilot factory in Fremont: With the new images, Tesla is promoting its hiring minisite for battery manufacturing, and it encourages people to apply for new jobs in both Berlin and Texas, where Tesla also plans to produce new battery cells.
Tesla has released a new one-minute long video spot on its YouTube channel, showing the company’s battery cell manufacturing lines. Elon Musk stated that some of the best manufacturing technology is present in other industries, inciting some curiosity that Tesla may have drawn inspiration from other sectors for its battery scaling projects.
Pilot lines were established in Fremont factory, California, while manufacturing has already commenced at Gigafactory Texas. By June 2024, Tesla has produced over 50 million 4680 cells at Giga Texas, with production rates rising from 85,470 cells per day in mid-2023 to 126,050 cells per day currently.
