Install the other Temperature Sensor at the solar panel array, or any sunny location. . For glazed panels, install Sensor between collector and glazing. Run 2-conductor cable between the Sensor and the Solar Control. Use waterproof connectors (provided) to connect Sensor to cable. SENSOR screw terminals. That's what I'm thinking.
It may be practical to extend the wiring for the existing sensor. Does your charger display the temperature it is seeing from the sensor? That would let you check your extended wiring with a known temperature thing, say boiling water.
Installation of the temperature sensor should be carried out by a certified personnel. Connect the sensor to the hot water outlet pipe, at the upper part of the water heater. This way only a small amount of water should be drained so that the water level is below the hot water pipe.
Temperature fluctuations often stem from thermostat or sensor issues in the solar hot water system. A malfunctioning thermostat may not maintain the desired temperature, while faulty sensors can provide inaccurate readings, leading to inconsistent heating. Begin by checking and calibrating the thermostat to ensure it’s set correctly.
As you can see, the temperature senson is there, but its just too short. It have to be right next to my battery if I am to make use of it ( or is it even intended for that? ). I opened the mppt and found the temp sensor soldered to the board, which I can easily replace ( unless it is not advisable to do so, please let me know ).
This sensor measure the ambient air temperature to adjust charging so it helps charging the battery well. 2. It's not measuring battery surrounding temperature. 3.
