Battery Module: Manufacturing, Assembly and Test Process Flow. In the Previous article, we saw the first three parts of the Battery Pack Manufacturing process: Electrode Manufacturing, Cell Assembly, Cell Finishing. Article Link In this article, we will look at the Module Production part.
The group Battery Production of Professor Kampker's chair deals with the manufacturing processes of the lithium-ion cell as well as with the assembly processes of the battery module and pack. The focus is on integrated product and process development approaches to optimize cost and quality drivers in manufacturing and assembly processes.
Based upon the aforementioned works on the data-driven modelling of battery production, the main research focuses of data science-based battery manufacturing management can be divided into two parts including data collection as well as process analysis and property prediction, as illustrated in Fig. 3.2.
Yet, a key aspect of data analyses in battery manufacturing chain is not only generating the predicted property value but also providing the sensitivity analyses of the investigated process parameters or variables.
To give a systematic description of how to develop data science methods to benefit battery manufacturing management, an introduction is first given to dividing battery manufacturing into two main parts including battery electrode manufacturing and battery cell manufacturing.
Figure 3.1 illustrates the general processes of Li-ion battery manufacturing, which can be mainly divided into three parts including the battery material preparation, electrode manufacturing, and battery cell manufacturing.
