At higher constant charging current rates the battery charges more effectively and this does not only apply to the Vanbo Battery (battery Sample 01) that was tested before but it was also true for the Winbright battery (battery sample 02) tested too.
Constant Current Charging: This strategy involves maintaining a constant current in the battery during the charging process. This approach can be more efficient than constant voltage charging, but it can also result in overcharging if the current is set too high.
The basic algorithm for Li-Poly batteries is to charge at constant current (0.5 C to 1C) until the battery reaches 4.2 Vpc (volts per cell), and hold the voltage at 4.2 volts until the charge current has dropped to 10% of the initial charge rate. In addition, a charge timer should be included for safety.
The batteries say they have a maximum charging current of 37.5A, which I imagine i want to get as close to as possible in order to charge the battery as quickly as possible, but looking at descriptions of charge controllers it seems that they are rated more based on the amperage input (which i think would be 8A in my case - 400W/24V...).
Battery Capacity: Different charging strategies can affect the capacity of the battery, either by reducing the maximum capacity or by reducing the effective capacity due to overcharging or undercharging .
Traditionally, the charging of batteries is being performed at varying current rates but this charging method presents a drawback in the sense that adequate estimation of the energy input and energy output cannot be easily obtained. Also, the present charging techniques still present lower efficiencies.
