Swedish tech company Anodox Energy Systems has announced plans to produce electric vehicle batteries in Latvia, with the first factory in the Port of Riga expected to be operational by December 2022. A second factory for rapidly growing LFP cell technology will be established soon after.
Riga carries nine 220 mm guns housed in three triple turrets. These guns have a good range of 18 km and a 14-second base reload. Her turrets have a slow 180-degree turn time of 32.7 seconds. Her AP shells have a decent alpha strike of 5,750, with flat ballistics.
Riga is the Tier IX of the Soviet heavy cruiser tech tree. She continues the shift in the Soviet heavy cruiser characteristics, featuring larger guns and a stronger armor scheme. A second factory for rapidly growing LFP cell technology will be established soon after. A total of €50 million will be invested and up to 300 new jobs will be created. This announcement aligns with Riga’s effort to establish Latvia as a European hub in the global automotive value chain.
