Deflection of pointer on the analog dial within the scale during battery test indicates the condition of batteries or storage batteries at an average load of 1000 V test voltage. The position of the Function Selector switch will not affect battery test results.
When the meter pointer deflects to the right, proceed to measurement. which is supplied with the instrument. If there is still no deflection, the test leads may have an open. Replace the test leads. extreme left of the scale for accurate measurement. Make sure to set the function selector switch to the appropriate position. damage may result.
*Instruments with a range greater than 30” Hg. (or 1 atmosphere) will result in less than full scale pointer deflection. Although great care has been taken to stabilize the instrument during manufacturing, a small zero shift could occur before the instrument is put into service.
pointer no longer points within battery symbol range of dial when Range Selector switch is set to battery test position. green LED for selected test voltage does not light. Replace batteries as described in paragraph 4.1.
(1)Plug the red test lead into the + terminal and the black test lead into the - terminal. (2)Set the function selector switch to the x10 position. (3)Connect the test leads to the LED under the light-up test. (4)When the LED does not light up, connect the test leads the other way. to the cathode. The meter deflection has no meaning on this range.
Close valve “B”. Maintain zero pressure on case and admit unknown pressure thru valve “C” to capsule. With all valves closed, disconnect vacuum source and pressure source. Carefully open valve “C”. This will cause clockwise pointer movement. When pointer reaches end of scale * (or stops on scale) close “C” and carefully open “A”.
